FAMILY BACKGROUND: 38-year-old single mother of four has been without income since beginning maternity leave on August 31, 2025. On her last day of work, she learned that her employer does not pay into New Jersey disability or unemployment, which caused her application for temporary disability to be denied. She is still healing physically while caring for a newborn and managing the needs of her three older children. With no child support coming in despite a court order, she is doing everything she can, but the financial strain has been overwhelming. She hopes to give her children a Christmas where they do not feel the burden she is carrying.
