In late 2022, she assumed custody of her older cousin, and in December 2024, she took in a newborn cousin whose teenage mother was unable to care for him and at risk of losing custody to the state. The infant was born with a serious liver disease and is currently in transition for a liver transplant. His frequent hospitalizations led her to lose two jobs, which drastically reduced her income. Despite overwhelming challenges, she has remained fully committed to keeping both children safe, loved, and together as a family.
